Iris was born in The Netherlands but grew up in Southern Ontario because her father, and artist, went to work at Queens University The family immigrated to Kingston Ontario in the early 60's. In the 60's exploring the rural Ontario while driving around was a much loved pastime for the family. Unfortunately her father passed away in "74 so the family moved back to The Netherlands. Her time in Ontario pops up in her subconscious and makes its way onto canvas.
